August calendar updated.  The gym is open every Thursday and Sunday this month!

George Harris turns 56 on Aug 11!

bullet

For reasons unknown, we have had several members who are playing without paying.  If you haven't paid for a season pass, please pay the $15 per session fee.  It's just not fair to those who've paid...

Season Pass Information:

bullet

Season Passes for July to December will cost the same as before: $90 for Sundays and $70 for Thursdays, with a total of $130 for both.  The 'pay per play' stays at $15.

bullet

Make your checks payable to 'Over the Hill Basketball, Inc.' and give them to Rick Killigrew.  Or mail them to him at 11 Ames Drive, Sherborn, MA 01770.

bullet

Payment is required if you want to play.  New 'Season Passes' must be paid for immediately--THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD IF YOU FORGET TO BRING THE SEASON PASS CHECK!

The Board has heard comments from several members regarding players who bring their sons to play hoops. While no one has any objections, people have indicated that they don't feel it's right that OTH members should have to sit out to accommodate them. Others have indicated they don't enjoy playing with them as they often play the game at a different pace than most of the regular members. And still more have have mentioned that they're uncomfortable playing with them for fear of hurting them. In order to avoid any hard feelings, the Board is asking for your cooperation.
1. Members are welcome to bring their children to play for the regular $15 per session fee.
2. Sons/daughters must be at least 18 years old to play; both father and child MUST sign a regular OTH waiver before playing.
3. Fathers and sons will play in the same game. All father/son pairs will be in the same game also.
4. If there are an odd number of players--for example 25 total--two options exist. The son sits out until a third game can be organized or the son and father alternate substituting so the other players don't have to sit more than they would in a normal 12 person game.
5. Consider how crowded a given day may be, e.g. summers are usually a good time to bring someone. Early fall is not.

bullet

There have also been comments from members about those who arrive late (past 8:15 on Thursdays and 9:15 on Sundays). The issue is that those who arrive late 'screw up' existing games or series that have been in progress since it often requires creation of a third game at the expense of those arrived 'on time'. While the Board doesn't have a solution to this issue, it does suggest that those who arrive late should be prepared to wait to play until both of the existing games have been completed and an appropriate number of players are on hand to start a third game. (Note this really only becomes an issue once 25 players are on hand.) Also, it is possible that late arrivals may end up playing in the 'upstairs' game with 8 players to minimize the disruption of the games/series in progress.
